2024 – SAPTAMI XV FINAL VOCAL CONTESTS - 

All Vocal and Instrumental contests unless specified otherwise, will have awards in three categories. Junior, Senior and Adults. Juniors will be 13 and below, Seniors 14 to 18 and Adult 19+. However, Judges will determine to adjust the scale based on the performances and number of entries to ensure maximum performances are awarded. Sub-Junior category will be added for winners ages below 10 years old. 

IMPORTANT CHANGES:

1.     Students who register for Geetham category can register for Varnam Level 1. But not in Krithi category.

2.     Students who contest for KRITHI I can also register for VARNAM I if you wish to but not in Geetham.

3.     In other words, either you can take part in GEETHAM and VARNAM I or VARNAM I and KRITHI I. You cannot take part in GEETHAM, VARNAM AND KRITHI I or GEETHAM and KRITHI I.

4.     Anyone competing in LEVEL II cannot take part in LEVEL I. For example you can enroll in KRITHI II and VARNAM I.  

5.     LEVEL II means you have good number of years of training and/or exposed to Manodharam.

6.     Students who got qualified in ALAPANA, NIRAVAL, VIRUTHAM, KALAPANA SWARAM can take part in RTP and Concert Competition. For example, if you are qualified in any one or more of the following categories can enroll in finals in the following categories. – ALAPANA, NIRAVAL, VIRUTHAM, KALAPANA SWARAM, RTP, Concert Competition.

RULES ARE 

While same song which was used or Prelims can be used, being finals it is to your advantage to be ready to be competitive and feel free to choose any other piece which will showcase your learning better. You will not be penalized if you use the same song. 

As a general rule, as always, please do not mention your name or your Guru's name or your Music School name during your performance. 

Your room officer will be helping you with all your questions on the day of the contests. (Exact contest time and details will be sent via e-mail to all registered contestants). All Vocal contests are held on Nov 24, 2024.

Please note that ranking will be given based on number of entries in each age grouping. Ranking will be only based on performance not by number of entries in each category. For example, if you are the only candidate in a category, you automatically will not be given first rank unless your performance reflects that.

Few days before the event, an email will be sent to you with forms to fill up and bring print out in person to check in.
